Good luck in receiving any monies from Ephren Taylor or bishop Long. I was scammed out of 3 homes and a barbershop investing with a Sherman Collins, Red Sheild Inc., Spartan Home Loans et al. I filed a civil law suit and lost everything ! No justice in the legal system. And I know what losing retirement to a Newella Weekes trying to re-purchase my own barbershop. I was supposed to be paid back in 2009. Regarding the monies i gave newella Weekes but now 2011 not even a phone call and no reimbursement ! Spartan Home Loans gave me 4,000 dollars , how benevelant , through the civil lawsuit. Oh and never hire a Danny Brace a defense lawyer who advised me to “wait and see what Sherman Collins would do “. Well all of these people are scammers and no legal defense ever helped me.

I was defrauded as well out of $40,000 from Mr. Taylor. I invested in January 2009 with a promised return as my investment was supposed to be in City Petroleum. Of course the note matured January 2010 and I have no money. I heard that Taylor has fled the country and the Feds are looking for him. I pray we all get our money back.

He’s a piece of shit. He lied to me too. I believed he would do the honest thing and repay me after I “loaned” him money for business. He’s dishonest and disloyal to those who helped him get to where he is. I feel sorry for his wife and kids.

We have our IRAs with Edward Jones and we see that the price of silver is projected to increase. That said, is it possible to put ‘real’ silver in our IRA, so that we watch it grow with our other funds (hopefully)?

I saw an AD in a money making magazine. SweepstakesIncome.com I called to inquire how it work. They explain how they are placing Sweepstakes machine terminal(s) around NC, Va Beach and other states. The investment cost $4,997.00 with a money back guarantee. I was promised…I will see a min. $300 a month (ROI). I receive two checks $87.39 and $90.35 I guess they fiqure I would not contact them about the low (ROI). I immediately submited/fax a refund. All I got was excuses. One excuse that my machine was place in Va Beach…but, the city enforcement shut down the store…illegal slot machines were found. Ephren Taylor call investors like myself with a pre-recorded excuse…to me it appears he was stalling. He did a webinar…but, you couldn’t ask him questions. To make long story short…I check the ‘BBB’ in advance…the company had a ‘F’ grade and 4 complaints. I should have went with my gut and not buy into this. IT’S A SCAM!!! The latest now is his sweepstakes income is suppose to have been sold/transfer or undergoing a restructuring program to new ownership…Yeah, right! I got a email about an refund procedure…even that look suspicious. To add salt to injurie…now he is doing a book tour ‘The Elite Entrepreneur’ and he is doing key note speaking engagement. What balls this guy has. If he come in my area I will inform the venue what their guest speaker–EPHREN TAYLOR has done to me and other investors.

So we are all in this same boat with this Sweepstakes investment…my take is I knew going in that when you make an investment there is risk involved and you are basically putting hope that the investment will pay off . In this case there was never a machine placed anywhere… so this investment never had a chance to fail. Mr Taylor and City Cap Corp has been sitting with mine and from what i can tell many others money in their coiffers for over a year now. Its bad business and now the number for the trustee is “temporarily ” out of service. This has been a disaster and no one else is saying it , but one of the reasons I invested in this was liking the idea of investing in a company run by a fellow African American…what a dumb move that turned out to be. Has anybody heard anything new..the last correspondance I had was July 5 with the Chantel girl saying everything was settled and things would be settled quickly..its 2 months later and haven’t heard a peep from Chantel or anybody else and now like I said earlier there’s not even a working phone number, they never answer email and I guess everybody is suppose to just write this off..smdh.

The very same thing has happen to me. There has been enough people that Mr. Taylor has scammed and munipulated that there must be something that we can do as a collective body. As all of you know Mr. Taylor currently lives in New York. I have consulted an attorney to see if he is able to help me get my money back. Yes, someone contacted me in April, I signed a tolling agreement and have have heard anything since. Someone emailed that they feel embarressed. It is not time to feel stupid nor powerless. There is power in numbers, lets go after Mr. Taylor.

my only income this year is from traditional IRA distribution, which i understand is taxable income. i now have some unexpected cash (flow) but no income, can i contribute to my ira and have that deduction (in effect to offset the distribution which is taxable income)?

My spouse invested money with ephren taylor and never saw any profit. Now, she is in the process of regaining her money but the sad thing is, we did the paperwork in jan, and it’s now may going into june and we still haven’t gotten the money plus. The gave us a settlement, but it had stipulations as well; 90% of the people had to file their paperwork to get their money back; next; another phase to get things signed; more bullshit. The person whom we have been dealing with, although nice, claims that if we go to the media, it only slows her down because she has to play defense.
I ‘m hoping that we get our money back, we have LEGAL paperwork for it. AND i hope that ephren taylor and his crew, burn in hell.

I too have been a victim of this outrageous and ongoing scam. As of January 2011, a claim form and tolling agreement was emailed and required to return ASAP. I did within 24 hours. It has been 5 months and still no word from them. Nobody responds to emails any longer. Chantel is the person that has been in the loop since 1/2011 but I’ve never spoke to her. 888-838-2115 is the only contact I know of at this point. The Trustees supposedly are making financial arrangements for payback and compensation but that has become a dead end. This has affected my life and others as I am unable to repay the money loaned to me by my most beautiful and best friend ever girlfriend. As of now, I have lost her due to my unthinkable financial constraints. Because of those bastards, I will be found in my car very soon due to my demise.

I too am a victim of Taylor/City Cap investment fraud. I am embarrassed and feel stupid, and asked myself “how could I let this happen to me after taking all precautions.” I paid $5,000 which was significant to me, but not large enough to get any help. HELP IS HARD TO GET! I had a signed written agreement they would buy the vending machine back if I was not satisfied within a year. I received no machine and no return of my money. I made numerous telephone calls, letter and emails. All unanswered. They are literally hiding from me. I don’t know about you, but I filed with SEC who are now investigating. My wife and I bought a house with 28 acres approx. 6 yrs ago last year we decided to sub-divide and sell 22 acres, basically open farm land. initially we wanted to build our dream home there but too expensive with bringing utilities across the creek etc. We the house with the land for 285k back in 2004. And sold the sub-divide land, 22 acres for 140k to a builder. There a bit more, before the bank agreed to sub-divide we had to put 28k down and of course foot the expenses for sub-dividing etc. Can you tell me based on this semario what my capital gain taxes were be?
